ONE SUMMER DAY ATRIUM MARINE STUDIOS BN9

One Summer Day blended original text by the company responding to Shakespeare’s finest monologues from his most well-known young people. Celia, Caliban, Cordelia, Hamlet, Juliet, Ophelia, Prince Hall and Puck all met their modern selves in BN9 on One Summer Day accompanied by the wonderful local folk band Dockside Barrel Scrapers.

We sold out to wonderful audiences and here are some of their thoughts:

A very interesting and innovative take on Shakespeare's characters. (I) Liked the way current issues were addressed such as parent/child relationships, boy/girl relationships, shoplifting, dementia, etc. Very cleverly written and produced and it really held our attention.  Also loved the live soundtrack from the Dockside Barrel Scrapers!

It is great to see productions like this in Newhaven - thank you and well done to everyone at POP - you are all doing a great job. The whole thing was brilliant, and the young people were inspiring.

Shakespeare for the TIK TOK generation!
